2021 CW Arrowverse Crossover will feature just Batwoman, Superman and Lois Lane

After the massive success of the crisis On unlimited Earths crossover event, fans may have been thrilled to see the Arrowverse Justice league in the next year. However, chairman and CEO of CW mark Pedowitz put a damper on those expectations in a call revealing next year’s schedule. The 2021 Arrowverse crossover on the CW will be between just Batwoman and Superman and Lois. Pedowitz also revealed that the crossover won’t happen until likely after the winter season break instead of the common place of around the 8th, 9th, or 10th episodes of the respective series.

In fact, much of CW’s future endeavors are as up-in-the-air as every network and studio, due to the COVID-19 shutdown. planning a smaller scale crossover on the CW in 2021 makes sense, and Batwoman and Superman and Lois will be their newest series. Thus, they will want any extra eyes tuning in to uplift these series build their developing fanbases. Also, this relocation will hopefully help them save some money. part of the reason the fate of green Arrow and the Canaries is still in limbo likely has to finish with the fact that so much is uncertain.

Of course, this doesn’t imply that the small screen Justice league won’t assemble to face the threat.

As Pedowitz said, through Deadline:

“We’re still working on it. It will be a smaller event than usual, we’re only planning a two-hour event. We are talking about doing Superman and Batwoman together. There’s a lot of characters coming from our other shows.”

So, nothing is yet set in kryptonite. Characters from all over the Arrowverse could participate in the crossover. Marquee stars from The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl could appear. It’s possible even Black Lightning could be involved, now that they are all on the same Earth. (Though that series films in Atlanta not Vancouver, so getting Cress Williams up there could take some doing.)

It’s also possible that some late-season mini-crossovers will happen on the other shows as well. Flash and Supergirl could team up, and their past mini-crossover shown the two wholesome characters work well together. Also, any of the Legends could pop up anywhere (and at any time). As fun as the big crossovers are, the thing that helped make the Arrowverse feel like a real connected universe were the mini-crossovers (usually featuring one or two actors) that happened.

What do you think? Are you disappointed that 2021 CW Arrowverse crossover will take place on just Batwoman and Superman and Lois? Or do you think smaller crossovers are the way to opt for a season or two after Crisis? let us know in the comments below!
